Planet Groove dress appropriately to suit the style of your wedding – usually black tie and/or cocktail for most receptions. They are well mannered, considerate, and easy to work with but know how to party when they take the stage. Additionally and very importantly – they play at an appropriate volume to ensure that everyone enjoys themselves.

As you browse through their extensive song list, you are free to choose the songs you would like to hear and the songs you don’t want to hear! Or you can leave it up to Planet Groove to decide. Planet Groove has the skill, experience and savvy to know what will work for your guests. They are also happy to take requests throughout the night.

Planet Groove will also happily learn a specific song for your bridal waltz or another special request to make your day even more personal.

Planet Groove can play a variety of music throughout the night. Starting with a smooth funky cocktail set as your guests enter followed by an acoustic instrumental dinner set to provide an intimate atmosphere. Then after the formalities the most important part of course: 2 or 3 dynamic dance sets where you can kick off your shoes and let your hair down and dance the night away! Note they can also supply an acoustic set for your wedding ceremony if required.

Full production is supplied: sound, lighting, and cordless microphones for the MC and speeches. They can provide connectivity for ipods into the sound system for the wedding waltz or 1st dance, and play suitable background music in the breaks. All your needs are covered and included.

Wedding Entertainment – Whats Included?

Planet Groove would love to make your wedding day the absolute best day it can be.

Some Background for the day – The basic engagement includes an 8 hour call out ( we need to be there 2 hours before people arrive) to setup and sound check+

* 3×50 minute dance sets

* All music in between sets ( our own DJ is included in price)

* Full use of our microphones for speeches.

* Full Production and Lighting

* Multiples one-one meeting with Band representative

* Further 1×50 minute laid back/Jazz Set over canapes/cocktails/entree/guests entry

* Musical Stings as Bridal Party Enters the room, throwing garter/bouquet and or bride/groom leaving venue at the end of proceedings

* Bridal Waltz Played Live * ( note if song in our repetoire we would need at least 6 weeks to learn and rehearse)

* Leaving Song Played Live

* Throwing of the Bouquet and Garter Live –

* Father/Bride Dance or Mother/Groom Dance

* 1 or 2 of the band playing at the ceremony – Acoustic Piano or Guitar and vocals. ( *Additional cost)

Additionally To put your mind at ease, our wedding entertainment packages are inclusive of the following:

1. Unlimited meetings with your Wedding Entertainment consultant;

2. State-of-the-art PA system and tailored lighting rig;

3. The opportunity to make song requests ( and songs NOT to play) to be played live by the band; as well as full music in between sets – hence no DJ requirement.

4. Band set-up and sound-check prior to guest arrival.

5. Utmost professionalism, courtesy and customer service. Exceeding and delighting all our Wedding customers is our goal!

6. Please ask if you would like an additional Brass section (eg. Saxaphone, Clarinet, Trumpet etc) added for the band.

We can also organise for you and your partner to come and watch the band live ( play mostly private functions but can be organised) , speak to some of our testimonials ( Other Brides and Grooms) or meet with a band representative. Additionally Planet Groove will be at your function/reception for the entire duration of the event – setting up before guests arrive and loading out/unpacking after guests leave;Properly attired in usually cocktail/black tie and you can also choose songs and the duration of setlists – flexibility, the highest level of musicianship, professionalism and customer satisfaction are the basis of our longevity and popularity in the notoriously fickle industry!

Nb. there are hundreds of AVERAGE wedding bands out there. Planet Groove are the only Party Covers Band that can play Jazz/Laid back acoustic over dinner and then mix it up with disco, retro, funk, pop and rock after the formalities ALL PLAYED LIVE and catering for all demographics from 20-60’s hence for the most important night of your life an easy decision…If you think about the cost of a photographer and or Videographer and take into account after Speeches a wedding can really slide downhill unless the entertainment is of the highest standard!
